Frequently Asked Questions

Buyers and end-users

Q: How do your recycled plastic regrinds and resin compare to prime or virgin resin?

A: Our regrinds and reprocessed plastic resin is sold to companies who do injection molding, sheet extrusion, blow molding, compounding, etc. Regrinds can be used with minor equipment adjustments and save money. Some of our customers use our plastic regrind and resin at 100%, some use as an extender. At whatever usage level, recycled plastic is a major cost savings and also promotes green plastics.

Q: What colors do you sell?

A: Most of our feedstocks are mixed colors to go black. However, we do generate some lots of material in natural, light tints, or straight black. Ask your sales representative for more information regarding specific grades.

Q: Can I try some some resin or regrind to see how it processes?

A: We can provide representative samples of materials for testing and evaluation.

Q: What quantities must I purchase?

A: We usually sell in truckload quantities, but we can also sell in LTL quantities if freight issues are worked out.

Q: Do I pick up material or do you deliver?

A: We can do whichever you prefer. Pricing would be adjusted accordingly. We have a full fleet of trailers to service a wide geographic area.

Q: Are most materials available on a continuous basis?

A: While we do sell some spot loads, the majority of material we sell is available continuously. Volume will vary depending upon material type and market conditions. Once we establish your needs, we will make every effort to fulfill your recycled plastic requirements.

Q: What about material quality concerns?

A: All potential scrap is fully analyzed prior to purchase. Loads are then inspected upon receipt. We implement various QA/QC procedures including visual, mechanical, and analytical to ensure pure recycled plastic feed streams. Our processing systems are set up to enable us to find and eliminate paper, metal, and other potential contaminants prior to grinding. We also have a full service lab onsite with up to date equipment.

Sellers and Plastic Scrap Generators

Q: What kind of scrap do you purchase?

A: We purchase post-industrial process waste, including parts, purge, logs, trim waste, bottles, film, rolls, bales, etc. We also purchase items such as shipping crates, totes, pallets, and other items that may be considered “post-consumer.” Pictures and samples help us to determine the value of your recyclable plastic.

Q: What quantities do you buy?

A: We usually purchase in truckload quantities but can take a combination of items such as bales and boxes. Depending on type of scrap, a truckload may range from a net weight of 8,000 lbs up to 40,000 lbs. Pricing will be based accordingly. Please contact a purchasing agent for more information.

Q: Do you purchase regrinds and obsolete resins?

A: Yes, if there is a good indication that there is no contamination. Specification sheets are very helpful and sampling may be requested.

Q: What about quality issues?

A: We issue a detailed purchase order which is used to inspect loads upon receipt. If there is an issue regarding contamination, or non-conformance we will work with suppliers to resolve.
